Why Join
Despite a growing body of research that shows effective teachers can close the achievement gap, poor and minority students continue to be the least likely to be taught by qualified teachers.. We are transforming this reality by recruiting and preparing teachers capable of improving student achievement to make a career in Indianapolis and Northwest Indiana district and charter schools. Learn why teachers matter.
Who We Want
While there is no single profile of an ideal candidate, ITF is extremely competitive because we know that great teachers are the key to student success. Overall we seek candidates who believe that all students can succeed in school, who are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal, and who want a lasting career in education. Learn what else we look for in our Fellows.
How We Help You Make a Difference
ITF is driven by the knowledge that effective teachers have a greater impact on student achievement than any other school factor, and students grappling with the challenges of poverty need great teachers more than anyone. We are committed to ensuring that Fellows are prepared to make a real difference for students from day one and that they remain on track to become the most effective teachers in their districts and schools within three years.
